I miss my dear friend Aimee!

July 10, 1974-March 4, 2009

Aimee and I met in Junior High and were inseparable in our younger years.

After my parents divorced my mom went back to school and needed to go to ASU to finish her degree so we had to move from Casa Grande up to the valley my Sophmore year. Aimee and I were devastated. I remember laying on my bed wrapped up together just crying our eyes out trying to come up with a way for me to stay. We didn't think we could live without being together everyday. It actually brings tears to my eyes to even think about those days and how hard that was. I continued to go down to Casa Grande on the weekends to stay at Aimee's house. Unfortunately, we got caught sneaking out of her house so that put a kabosh on our weekend sleepovers for awhile. I think I forgot to mention that we liked to get into trouble :) Aimee always had and still has such a special place in my heart because of all of our childhood memories. There's something so special about old friends.

Our friendship took a little "break" for a couple of years during our college days but we were able to pick-up the pieces and start where we left off.

Aimee has been at every milestone and tragedy in my life. Wedding celebrations, bridal showers, baby showers, births, birthday celebrations, and deaths in the family...she was there. Last April when my Papa died it was so comforting having her sit with my family at his funeral. She loved my Papa and was always a part of my family.

She was one of the most thoughtful people I knew. She always sent cards for every occasion and it was never a generic card, it was a card that you would think she had written just for you. She didn't just keep up with the special occasions in MY life, she kept up with ALL of her friends and families lives. I don't know how she did it.

We didn't see eachother as much as we would have liked, and now more than ever I'm realizing that sometimes you just HAVE to make time for the people you love. We always kept in touch through the phone though. She LOVED her phone.

A couple years ago when she was pregnant with Anthony, she invited me to come have a sleepover at her house because Rueben (her husband) was out of town. I was SO excited to go. We went to dinner and then came back and just hung out. We layed in her bed talking and giggling until I think I fell asleep while she was telling me a story...Aimee liked to talk. I will cherish those memories forever.

I already miss her terribly. I miss being able to call her up just to tell her I'm thinking about her, I will miss getting those phone calls from her on my birthday with her singing me Happy Birthday WAY out of tune, I will even miss her potty mouth, I will miss that I don't get to share the good, the bad, and the ugly things that go on in my life with her, I will miss her telling me she loves me every time she hung up the phone.

I just miss HER!!

Science Experiment...Bust!

Maclaine's 1st grade teacher Mrs. Pieczynski, whom we love by the way, shared this experiment with her class. Apparently, her class last year did this for the school science fair and when she told her class about it this year Maclaine came home wanting to try it.

What you do is take an egg and put it in a see-through container and fill it up with vinegar. Then after a week I guess you're supposed to be able to take it out and it resembles a bouncy ball. Well, I will say that it was very interesting seeing the shell being eaten away by the vinegar BUT I wouldn't say it bounced.

Here's some pictures of Maclaine's Science Experiment. These were taken after the egg had been in the vinegar for a week in a half.

I love my birthday!

What a wonderful Birthday!

Even though my birthday was almost a month ago, I couldn't let my wonderful birthday go unnoticed. Ty has always been very creative and thoughtful when it comes to Birthday's or holidays. This birthday (my 35th) was no different.

I started off the morning with some wonderful gifts from Ty and Clainey. And then when I went to make my coffee for the morning I found a note on my creamer and realized I was going on a scavenger hunt around the house (to be completely honest with you, I'm not sure I would have figured that out but Maclaine informed me that there were notes all over the house.) It was so much fun and made for a very memorable birthday.

This is the necklace Maclaine got me. One half says "mother" and the other half says "daughter". She picked that out for me at Claire's (her favorite store) and some really cute sunglasses.

This is the picture she made for me, she told me it wasn't her best work because she was in a hurry...I got a kick out of that.

This note was on my coffee creamer with an attached $20 bill

This note was on a spoon in the silverware drawer with an attached $20 bill

This one was on the horn in the car with an attached $20 bill and when I walked out to the car I was quite surprised to see that my "creative" husband decorated my car with shoe polish. I would recommend never doing that. Apparently, they make paint just for windows :)

This one was on my Twilight book with an attached $20 bill

I was so excited to get birthday money so I could get some facials.

My birthday lasted for at least a week with dinner, lunch and coffee dates with friends and family. My sisters, whom I adore, and I went to have pedicures and dinner on my actual birthday. I got to hang out with two of my favorite peeps Shannah and Nikki and eat some yummy ooey gooey cake and drink coffee. Another one of my favorite peeps, Dana, came and took me to dinner and coffee one evening. My Mom and Granny came up one day and took me to lunch at Oregano's, and we got to just hang out and chat all afternoon. I got lots of phone calls, cards in the mail, and Facebook messages wishing me a Happy Day. I couldn't have asked for a better day! Thanks to all my friends and family for making my birthday so special. Maybe someday you'll get a thank you card in the mail :)

"Mom, look what I found?"

Maclaine was outside playing and all of a sudden I heard, "Mom, come look at what I found." She showed me the green flying bug in her hand and said, "I have an idea, take a picture and put it on the blog and say my daughter found this in our backyard." I got a chuckle out of that and went right away to the computer to put it on the blog like I was instructed to. :)

Luau Party!

We had so much fun at Maclaine's Luau Party!

We did our annual Pin the Tail on the Donkey (the kids love that $1 game). The kiddos hit the pinata, danced to some Hawaiian music while they limboed and most of all we had a great time hangin' out with the family and the Cicero's (I consider them my family too). Thanks guys for all the fun and all the great gifts you brought for Maclaine. She told me last night that she got everything she wanted. She started playing with her loot as soon as everyone left.

This is their Zoolander pose

Here's a few pictures of all the festivities that occurred.
