D.D's Birthday Picnic!

Last weekend my brother-in-law, Kenny, planned a picnic at Picacho Peak to celebrate my sister's birthday. Our family and Kenny's family and Myrna, one of my sisters good friends from high school all attended. It was the most gorgeous day and it was just so relaxing. The kids had a great time playing on the mountain and the playground and the adults had a great time just sitting back getting some sun.

Our little artist!

We received an e-mail from Maclaine's teacher saying that she really thought we would want to attend the art fair at school because Maclaine's artwork was a finalist. Well, we weren't sure what that meant but we couldn't wait to go check it out. It turns out that someone who works at her school designs comic books and he gave the whole school an outlined picture of a male or female and the kids were asked to draw a superhero using that template. Then they would pick the top 3 from each class, then they would pick the top three from each grade, and then those would go into another contest and the winner would be chosen from the last group in which the artist would use that drawing in his comic book.

Maclaine's drawing was one of the top 3 in her class, we think she did an amazing job! She's an artsy-fartsy kind of girl, quite literally actually :)

Hiking the Santan's

A couple weekends ago we went hiking with my sister's family. We met up at the Santan mountains and because we got a little bit of a late start it ended up being quite warm. So, needless to say, we didn't actually do much "hiking" but it was still really nice just to get out and enjoy the beautiful Arizona scenery.

Easter, Easter, & more Easter!

We started off the Easter weekend decorating eggs, one of the Morgan's favorite things to do, then Sunday morning Ty's parents came over to drop off Maclaine's Easter goodies, then off to church we went. After church, we headed over to my sister's house for a yummy lunch and egg hunt.
