Skating during Spring Break!

We didn't have a lot planned during Spring Break....which was wonderful! But, there was one thing that we had on the agenda and that was to go to Skateland! Maclaine LOVES to skate! We invited my sister and her kiddos to join us...it was so much fun watching them all try to figure it out.

My nieces Aubrey and Mallory and my nephew Tanner with Maclaine...

Aubrey was hilarious to watch! It took her a little while but she got it down...

Clainey could have stayed all day long skating round and round...

Crazy Tanner! He's a speedracer...

Tanner got a HUGE blister from his skates so he was taking a little break...

Maclaine and her bestie, Delani, have known each other since they were babies and have pretty much grown up together because Delani lives across the street from us. They have so much fun together in our back yard. One particular day, they came screaming into the house saying, "we caught a lizard, we caught a lizard!" Apparently, that's always been Delani's dream to catch a lizard and this ended up being her special day! I'm pretty sure Maclaine had no part in it, other than the chasing part, by the looks of the pictures. She looks totally grossed out and Delani looks cool as a cucumber grabbing that slimy thing.

I told them to act like they were freaked out...

Olive Mill

My mom and sisters and I always try to have a girls day when it's one of our birthdays. Jamie's birthday was in January and she was sick for her birthday so when it came around to my birthday in February we decided to just celebrate both of our special days.

We planned on going to the Olive Mill in Queen Creek even though that particular day was the day that was SO stinkin' cold. Maclaine and I had gotten snowed on after church and the top of the Superstition Mountains were covered!

It ended up being a great time! The food was super yummy and we ended up spending around 3 or 4  hours just chit-chatting and wandering around the place. I totally recommend checking it out!

I'm so glad I took this picture before we headed into the Olive Mill because when we left, the snow was already melted.

How to make...

Maclaine is in the 3rd grade and has a writing assignment every week. I look forward to Thursdays when her teacher sends home all their work for the week, the first thing I look for is the writing. One of her more recent writings was a "how-to" and Maclaine picked, "How to make the finest Mac-n-cheese around." Those of you who know her know that she could eat it for every meal if we let her.

I'm not sure if Mrs. Sosa realized it when she read it but I was cracking up that Maclaine gave directions on how to make Easy Mac!

If you click on the picture, it will enlarge so you can read it better!

Does it get any cuter than this?

Every night when we tuck Maclaine into bed Barnaby looks up at us with his big brown eyes waiting for us to tuck him in too.

Now, I don't know if that's "really" what he's thinking but we've decided that he can't go to sleep unless we get him all tucked in. He sleeps on his favorite pillow and we put a little blanket over him and on this night Maclaine and I tucked a stuffed animal under his arm...just because. Ty walked out of the room shaking his head at us but Maclaine and I were dying laughing at how stinkin' cute he is!

Maclaine's 9th Birthday!!!

My baby girl turned 9 in February!

Where oh where has the time gone?

Although I miss her baby days and all that comes with that I'm SO enjoying her at this age! I know I say this over and over but she is the wittiest 9 year old I've ever met! Just the other day we were at the mall and she said, "that old man is going to the movies." I looked over there and said, "huh?" She said, "he's picking his seat." That is a Ty-ism and she picks up on all his little sayings. She has a boatload of one-liners in her back pocket, so watch out!

I went and had lunch with her at school on her birthday. It was great because it was actually picture day, so they were eating in their classroom instead of the cafeteria...SCORE!

That evening, we went to karate so her karate peeps could sing her Happy Birthday!

After that, we headed to Carraba's for Maclaine's favorite...Shrimp Scampi!

For her party she wanted a Disco, Rock Star, Music party...

I found a bunch of records at Goodwill and had so much fun decorating with them...I even made some chip bowls.

I framed an old Beatles t-shirt that was too small for Maclaine for added decorations...

Can't have a disco party without lava lamps, thanks Becki for loaning yours to us...

Our little Rock Star!

Grandma and Grandpa arrive with some really BIG balloons...

The kids were a crack-up doing Just Dance on the wii....

Can't have a party at the Morgan's without a Pinata...

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you...

Happy Birthday dear Maclaine...

Happy Birthday to you..."

She got mostly money to put towards her iPad and some other fun goodies...

Thanks to you all for making Clainey's day so special!

Valentine's Day!

Maclaine and I thought these cookies were so cute so we decided to make them for a little Valentine treat. They turned out cute but didn't taste great...bummer!

At least we had a lot of fun making them....

Here's our "crazy hair girl" on Valentine's Day morning....

She's still half asleep as she's reading her little love notes from her daddy...
