Granny's 80th Birthday picnic!

My Granny's 80th birthday was January 31st and to celebrate her big day we decided to have a picnic for her because she loves them! We've been going to the same picnic area in Casa Grande since I was a young girl. The kids always have a great time climbing the mountain, the parents (really only me) have heart attacks as we watch the kids stand on the top of the mountain doing poses, and the other adults just sit back and relax and chat. It makes for a perfect day as long as the weather holds up.

I'm sad to say that I didn't really get too many pictures of the birthday girl! She was busy making her rounds chatting with everyone and she's not someone who loves to pose for pictures every 5 seconds.

Here's what my mom put in the Casa Grande Dispatch on her birthday! My granny said she felt like a celebrity that day because everywhere she went people were saying "Happy Birthday" to her! She had a couple different parties planned for her on her special day and they were a surprise to her. I think she ended up having a great day!

The famous mountain we've been climbing for many, many years....

It started out to be extra cold that day! So cold that Mallory ended up with two bloody noses, poor thing...

Grammie Lin with some of the grand kids...

My mom thought it would be really funny to take a picture of her and my dad since they were wearing the same colors, this picture makes me laugh a little...

Me and my dad...

We cannot take a picture of the two of us without Ty sticking out his tongue, he really has a beautiful smile, I promise...

Cousins....

They played RummiKub when they got tired of climbing...

Mallory and Maclaine (you can hardly see her), posing on the mountain...

My sweet niece Ellie....

He's the most serious little boy ever, so cute....

My sweet little musicians!

I came home from the gym one Saturday morning and I heard sweet music fill my ears as soon as I walked in the door!

This is what I found when I turned the corner....

They were composing a song together!

I know I've said it a million times but these two are so much alike! They have a very dry sense of humor, they're both extremely kind and giving, and they both have a natural instinct when it comes to music. I hope some day I can learn an instrument so I can travel the world with them when they're huge rockstars! :)

It brings my heart so much joy to see these two spend this special time together!

Fairness award!

Maclaine came home the other day from school and announced to us that she received the Fairness award for her class. So cool! We are always proud of our little Clainey, whether she receives an award or not but then she comes home with these awesome awards and it makes us super proud that she's showing these characteristics even when she's not in the privacy of our home.

Way to go Clainey!!!

A portion of Spirit Week!

Maclaine had spirit week a couple weeks ago at her school Noah Webster. For some reason I start off the week by being good and getting pictures of her outfits but by the end of the week I always end up missing a couple days. This particular week I missed pajama day and school pride day.

The first day was crazy hat day! Maclaine came up with this one on her own...

This day is always Maclaine's favorite! Crazy hair day...

Wednesday was fancy day....

A night on the town!

One of dearest friends Shannah, had her birthday in January and for her special day we took her for dinner, drinks, and dessert and we took a stroll around Charming Charlie's to find her some super cute accessories!

Here's a picture of us girls before heading out on the town!

WOW, time flies!

One of my dearest friends Shannah has two adorable boys and her first born Philip is a couple years younger than Maclaine. Since Shannah and I spend so much time together, especially when our kids were smaller and we had more time on our hands, our kids ended up loving each other and forming special bonds. These two have been friends for more than half of their life and I love looking at all the pictures taken through the years. This photo was taken at the end of 2005.

I'm not sure when this one was taken...but I've always loved it!

These pictures were taken in Shannah's backyard on the last day of school before Christmas break 2010! They crack me up! Philip will pretend with Maclaine and do things that she enjoys and then Maclaine will put on Philip's baseball gear and do things that he loves! That's true friendship!

How stinkin' cute are they?

"It Snowed, It Snowed!!!"

Well, we've always told Maclaine it will probably never snow in Mesa, Arizona!

I had to eat my words because believe it or not...IT SNOWED!!!

You can't see the snow in this picture...I think we missed the bigger chunks coming down but Maclaine and her BFF Delani thought it was pretty cool!
