Karisma and Clainey!

We've been trying to get in all the slumber parties and fun activities that I promised Maclaine she could do this summer. It's been a crazy couple of weeks because her momma (me) forgot how quickly the summer break flies by. Karisma spending the night was on the summer agenda.

Karisma's mom and dad are in our small group (social group, made of friends from church who love and encourage one another). Her and Maclaine always have a great time playing together. She's a few years older than Maclaine but that doesn't seem to get in the way of them having fun together.

She came over Friday night and we walked around the mall and got the girls some special necklaces from Claire's and ate Chick-fil-a. Then on Saturday we decided to go see G Force.

As you might notice from the picture above, the girls tried to wear matching outfits. I got such a chuckle out of it because Maclaine came in asking where her orange shirt was that we had just put in the Goodwill pile. She then said, that her and Karisma were going to look just alike that nobody would be able to tell them apart. So darn cute! Do you remember those days wanting to dress just like your best friend? I totally remember those days. Now, I don't want to be caught dead in the same outfit as one of my friends on the same day. "So not cool, now :)" For awhile my older sister and her family came to the same church as us and every Sunday somehow we ended up looking like twins. We never planned it but we always had the same colors on and it wasn't always black either. Sometimes it would be things that you would never think that we would pick out on the same day. Sure enough, we were matchy-matchy! I just had to share that little piece of information. Sister's just think alike, and there's nothin' wrong with that!

Here's the girls at the movies getting ready to watch G-Force in 3-D

The girls had some dress-up time too....

A game of Twister is always a must when you have your friends over, it usually doesn't last very long though....

Smooches!

What do you think of our new lips?

Stayin' cool in Arizona!

When it's 115 degrees outside, what in the world do you do to stay cool?

Ice Skating of course!

One of my best friends, Dana, and her boys decided to be spontaneous with us and met us at Polar Ice. The kids all did great, we even took the twins out on the ice. I think everyone had a good time. I know Maclaine did! She didn't want to leave.

Maclaine was very serious about her ice skating! I think she would have been just fine if she was the only one there, she was focused I tell you!

I'm looking forward to going back too, it was super fun!

I wish I had gotten more pictures, Dana's other boys Brandon and Benjamin were there also. For some reason, I never got a picture of the kiddos together.

These are my two favorite twins! You can't tell by this picture, but they actually do like me :)

Maclaine loved ice skating, she could have stayed all day going round and round the rink.

Celebrating mom's birthday!

My mom's birthday was July 29th, yesterday, and she wanted to spend some time with the grandkids for her special day. We went to one of the city pools and enjoyed staying cool in this HOT weather and enjoyed each other's company. Jamie and her kiddos weren't able to make it today but we missed them.

I hope you had a great birthday mom, you deserve it!

Here's some pictures of our fun day!

I'm not sure why I feel like I need to show every single tooth in my mouth when I smile for the camera.

Slumber Party with cousins!

Maclaine has been dying to have a slumber party this summer so now that summer break is almost over we have to hurry-up and get them all in. We started with having Aubrey and Tanner, her cousins, stay over. Mallory was sad because she wasn't able to stay due to a doctor's appointment early in the morning. She'll hopefully be staying next week.

The little "party" almost didn't happen because our air-conditioning went out Sunday afternoon. But, thank you Jesus, we were able to have it fixed for the small price of $400. Living in Arizona, there is just no way you can go without air in the summer. I actually felt a little sad as we were sitting in our HOT home thinking about all the people in the valley that do go without air. Our house only got to 87 degrees or so but I'm sure they're living in even hotter spaces.

Once the air was fixed we were ready to roll....the kiddos ate pizza and root beer floats for dessert and played and wrestled the night away.

When they woke-up the questions started...
"What are we going to do today?"
"Can we go to the mall?"
"Aunt Lyssa, I brought my science kit, can we do a science experiment?"
"Mom, can you get us the sewing machine so we can make something for our sewing club?"

So, by 10:00 a.m. the girls had made their sewing projects and Tanner and I had done 2 experiments. We were going to head to the mall but my sister and Mallory got there earlier than we thought. Mallory and my sister got to have some fun singing karoake before they had to leave.

Here's some pictures of our busy, fun morning!

God Bless America!

We spent the 4th of July at my Best friend Shannah's house. We had a great time hangin' out with all of her family. She's always the "hostess with the most-est."

Great food, great company, great fun!

The kids had fun with all the poppers and mess-makers...

We swam....

Then we went and parked on the side of the road to watch the fireworks, we actually got to see 4 different shows, it was great!

We got home and Maclaine and daddy were T-I-R-E-D....

Off to bed we went!
