Happy Father's Day Ty!

I knew the minute I saw Ty holding Maclaine in that hospital room 7 years ago, with tears streaming down his face, that he was going to be a great daddy. He definitely has been that and so much more. Maclaine acts so much like Ty and she is a total Daddy's girl.

We love you Ty! Happy Father's Day!

Here's a video I made 2 years ago for him for Father's Day (actually my friend Dana did all the work)...I never get tired of watching it.

Make sure to turn your speakers on

Father's Day Weekend

We've had a fun-filled weekend. Clainey and I went down to Tucson to spend some quality time with my dad. A great time was had by all. We got there on Thursday and went to dinner at Olive Garden and then on Friday we drove to Mount Lemon and had a picnic. The weather was beautiful on the mountain, it was actually a bit chilly. We walked around the lake and then found a nice little spot to eat our lunch. Maclaine found a beetle bug that she kept in a bag until we got back to my dad's so she could put it in her bug catcher. I think that might have been the highlight of our little adventure for her. We watched a movie and ate a lot and just enjoyed spending time together.

Thanks Dad for a nice relaxing few days. I always enjoy spending time with you, I learn a little more about you every time. We loved being there, and we love you too!

Here's our dinner at Olive Garden

I forgot to mention that Maclaine talked me into bringing Barnaby to Tucson and then she talked us into letting her bring him on our picnic. I wasn't sure of the idea but he did great!

We got home Saturday in time to hang out with Ty and take an afternoon nap, it's all about the weekend nap for us Morgan's :). Then, we went to Oregano's for a yummy dinner.

Sunday, we met Ty at church because he was playing in the band and then we had some relax time when he got home. Ty grilled us some yummy steak and shrimp...oh yea, baby!

Swim Lessons

Here's some of the stuff Maclaine learned at swim lessons this summer. She's always been a little timid in the water and been very afraid of the back float, so the six lessons she received this summer really did wonders for her. She learned the basics of a couple different strokes and was able to build her confidence in the water.

Her swim instructor's name is Chris and he and his wife teach swim lessons all summer long...I think they do a great job!

Saturday Night Make-over!

Maclaine asked to give me a make-over Saturday night and she promised me I would look like a princess when she was done....

When she finished she told me I could play Ursula from Little Mermaid...

Yep, I see the resemblance...

Super Heroes!

We went to my sister Jamie's house the other day and the kids had a ball! All of a sudden Maclaine comes out giggling, wearing Donovan's Spiderman costume. As you can see, it wasn't quite her size. Then, Ellie came out with one on too. Donovan was already wearing his because right now that's all he wants to wear. He's VERY into Spiderman!

Here's the Super Heroes!

This is Ellie's super hero pose.

Sew Cute!

Every time I'm working on a sewing project, Maclaine is infatuated with the sewing machine. She wants to help or she just plain wants to make something. So, I put on my patience hat and gave her a quick lesson in sewing. It was so funny because she would get that thing going on full speed and actually have a fairly straight line sewn. She wanted her first project to be a cloth checkerboard game. I recommended she just do a little practicing first.

I have so many scraps of fabric so I handed her a stack and pretty much left her alone. I was quite impressed when I saw the finished product. I did help her sew the strap on the "shirt" and she wanted me to connect it to a tank top, so I helped with that.

Not bad for her first project!

Karate Kid

Maclaine had her Karate belt exam on Saturday. She was testing for her orange belt which is the third belt. We were so incredibly proud of her because this was something she was very nervous about and she just went out there and did it!

Whew...Thank goodness that's over...I'm sweatin'!

Proud Daddy!
